Introduced into theaters in the 1860s, Pepper’s Ghost startled theatergoers with an effect that allowed live people or objects to materialize into the scene. The illusion of a ghost is an actor located forward of and below the stage floor. The glass illustrates the reflection of the offstage “ghost,” while the leftmost “ghost” simulates what the audiences see. Modern versions of this effect consist of a completely new way of projecting video to create the illusion of life-size, full-color, moving images but projected as 2D images into a set. The mind of the audience creates the 3D illusion. This technology enables a new line of communication, which is called “holographic telepresence” that delivers a life-sized holographic experience in real time, enabling to connect more effectively and make an impact on audiences. The technology reduces expenses and saves on time travel. This project identified the parameters for correct setup of holographic telepresence, so that future users will be able to replicate and use with ease. The project used action research, which provides fast and effective solutions. The results demonstrated that it was possible that by defining the parameters and a guide for setting up a holographic telepresence

Protocolo para el aprovechamiento y extracción de madera de las plantaciones en el marco del proyecto forestal para la cuenca del río Chinchiná- PROCUENCA

Imágenes, Gráficas.En este documento se recoge la experiencia de gerenciamiento del proceso de aprovechamiento forestal en el marco del proyecto Procuenca, en donde se presenta el diseño, prueba y aplicación de documentos vinculantes entre los productores y Procuenca y de los instrumentos y herramientas construidos y probados para el seguimiento, análisis y evaluación de los procesos de aprovechamiento. A partir de los resultados se ha construido un manual de aprovechamiento forestal que puede ser aplicado por cualquier productor forestal, sin importar su nivel académico, ya que ha sido diseñado para ser asimilado por todas las personas que lo lean. El protocolo es el resultado de la unificación de criterios técnicos por el personal de esta área. Además la puesta en marcha y aplicación del mismo ha conllevado a un mejoramiento continuo en el proceso de entresacas comerciales, teniendo en cuenta que esta labor silvicultural es fundamental en el incremento volumétrico de los rodales ya que de no ejecutarse las curvas de crecimiento de las plantaciones se verían afectadas significativamente y los volúmenes proyectados serian inferiores. Si la actividad de entresaca se hace pero no se tienen en cuenta criterios técnicos en el momento del análisis, la marcación y velar por que su ejecución en campo sea correcta, aplicando unos altos estándares de calidad en la actividad. Así mismo se debe de velar por la seguridad de los operarios que ejecutan las labores en campo, haciendo que la parte de seguridad industrial sea una prioridad, ya que esta labor está catalogada como una de las actividad laboral más peligrosas del mundo. Cada uno de los documentos construidos ha sido aplicado y sometido a proceso de mejoramiento y a prueba por el personal técnico y por los reforestadores que también son parte primordial en proceso de mejoramiento de la calidad de las entresacas en el marco de Procuenca. Sin lugar a dudas no existe ningún documento perfecto que hable acerca de esta práctica silvicultural, pero este protocolo se acerca mucho a la mejor manera de ejecutar esta faena en cada uno de los rodales del proyecto ya que se cuenta con información precisa de cada rodal, gracias al completo programa de monitoreos.This paper describes the experience of managing the process of logging on the project Procuenca, where we present the design, testing and implementation of binding documents between producers and Procuenca and instruments and tools built and tested for the monitoring, analysis and evaluation of utilization processes. From the results it has built a logging manual can be read and applied by any forestry producer, regardless of their academic level, as it has been designed to be assimilated by all who read it. The protocol is the result of the unification of technical criteria for staff in this area. Besides the implementation and application of it has led to a continuous improvement in the commercial thinning process , bearing in mind that this work is fundamental silvicultural development as it stands not run growth curves plantations be affected significantly and projected volumes would be lower . If the activity is thinning but are considered a good criteria at the time of the analysis, dialing and ensure that your implementation is correct field, applying high standards of quality in the activity. Also must ensure the safety of operators running in field work, making the industrial safety is a priority, as this work is listed as one of the most dangerous work activity in the world. Each of the documents has been built launched and tested by the technical staff and the reforestation are also a major part in the process of improving the quality of thinning under Procuenca. No doubt there is no perfect document that speaks about this silvicultural practice, but this protocol is very close to the best way to perform this task on each project stands as it has accurate information of each stand, thanks to the complete monitoring program. Violencia en la Familia y Violencia Transnacional en las Novelas Los Ejércitos de Evelio Rosero e Insensatez de Horacio Castellanos Moya

In my dissertation, I study two books that deal with political violence in Latin America and how violence in the political and public spheres reflects itself in the more private space of the home and the nuclear family. The focus of my work is Evelio Rosero’s, Los ejércitos and Horacio Castellanos Moya’s, Insensatez. The Colombian writer Evelio Rosero’s, Los ejércitos show the armed conflict between the military government, guerrilla armies, and those who have been displaced from their homes and towns by the armed clashes between the military and the guerrillas. Insensatez, by the Salvadorian writer, Horacio Castellanos Moya, on the other hand, centers on the assassination of more than three hundred thousand indigenous people over ten years of military regime. On the one hand, I am conducting research on the violence endemic in Colombia. I am looking at relatively recent history—that includes the bipartisan violence between Colombia’s main political parties, liberales and conservadores—that spans from the 1940´s through the middle of the 1960’s. Some studies assert that this conflict ends in 1974 with the creation of the Frente Nacional, also known as the Benidorm Pact, through which the leaders of both political parties reached an agreement to rotate power. My work also covers seventy years of armed conflict (1946-2016) between the Colombian government, paramilitary groups, and guerrilla groups. Thus, I expand the study of pervasive violence in Colombia and differ from traditional studies which tend to cover only the armed conflict with guerrilla groups, consequently only addressing half a century of Colombian history. On the other hand, I will also be looking at how Horacio Castellanos Moya examines the mass assassinations, particularly of indigenous people, allegedly by governmental military forces during the confrontations that took place between 1960 and 1996. Adquisición de datos con tecnología IoT LoraWAN para monitoreo de turbinas eólicas bio-inspiradas en zonas rurales de Cundinamarca

Context: The energy crisis is a global problem. In Colombia, research aimed at the efficient use of renewable energies is being conducted. For example, in the case of bio-inspired wind generators, a monitoring system is required to observe the output variables (voltage and frequency). Method: LoRaWAN technologies are used to deploy the wireless link since the generators are separated from the base station. In addition, the Gateway coverage area is simulated with HTZ Communications software for future smart grid improvements. Results: The implemented system allows constant monitoring over a long period of time and stores its information in online, open-source databases, which allows remotely visualizing the status of the network, with a total of 3 samples per minute and a range of up to 3,47 km. Conclusions: The data acquisition system can be implemented for remote monitoring. Moreover, since it is a low power system, it can be utilized in non-interconnected areas, as well as for storing data for up to 6 months. However, for the characterization of a model of wind generators, it is advisable to modify the system so that the sampling time is lower.Contexto: La crisis energética es una problemática global. En Colombia se están realizando investigaciones para el aprovechamiento eficiente de energías renovables. Por ejemplo, en el caso de generadores eólicos bio-inspirados, se requiere un sistema de monitoreo para observar variables de salida (voltaje y frecuencia). Método: Se utilizan tecnologías LoRaWAN para el despliegue del enlace inalámbrico, ya que los generadores están separados de la estación base. Además, la zona de cobertura del Gateway se construye en el software HTZ Communications para futuras mejoras en la red inteligente. Resultados: El sistema implementado permite realizar un monitoreo constante por periodos de tiempo prolongados y almacena su información en bases de datos online de código abierto, lo cual permite visualizar el estado de la red de forma remota, con un total de 3 muestras por minuto y un alcance de hasta 3,47 km. Conclusiones: El sistema de adquisición de datos puede ser implementado para monitoreo remoto. Adicionalmente, dado que es un sistema de baja potencia, puede utilizarse en zonas no interconectadas, así como para almacenar datos hasta por 6 meses. Sin embargo, para la caracterización de un modelo de generadores eólicos, es aconsejable modificar el sistema para que el tiempo de muestreo sea menor

IMPORTANCIA DE LA EVALUACIÓN DE LA CROMATINA ESPERMÁTICA EN RUMIANTES. UNA REVISIÓN / IMPORTANCE OF SPERM CHROMATIN EVALUATION IN RUMINANTS. A REVIEW

During spermatogenesis, the sperm nucleus undergoes a series of important changes that make of the chromatin a unique structure, whose quality is a determining factor of sperm ability to promote normal embryonic development and it is consequently related to fertility. Several factors could affect the integrity of sperm chromatin and thus affect the fertility, having consequences for the offspring. Despite this and the availability of techniques, evaluation of the sperm chromatin quality is not part of the tests performed routinely at the field or laboratory to estimate sperm quality or the fertility of bulls, and this may be limiting the efficiency of embryos production systems and the artificial insemination with the consequent reduction in profitability. In this review, some of the factors that may affect the integrity of sperm chromatin and how damage to this structure affects reproductive efficiency and progeny are discussed; in addition, some alternatives that could be useful to reduce the incidence of sperm with damaged chromatin, with special emphasis on ruminants are presented.RESUMENDurante la espermatogénesis el núcleo espermático sufre una serie de cambios importantes que hacen de la cromatina una estructura única cuya calidad es un factor determinante de la capacidad espermática para promover el desarrollo embrionario normal y que consecuentemente está relacionada con la fertilidad. Diversos factores pueden afectar la integridad de la cromatina espermática y por ende afectar la fertilidad teniendo consecuencias sobre la progenie. A pesar de esto y de la disponibilidad de técnicas, la evaluación de la calidad de la cromatina espermática no forma parte de la batería de pruebas que se realizan tanto a nivel de campo como en laboratorio, para estimar la calidad espermática y el potencial reproductivo de los toros, y esto puede estar limitando la eficiencia de los sistemas de producción de embriones y de la inseminación artificial con la consecuente disminución de la rentabilidad. En esta revisión se discuten algunos de los factores que pueden afectar la integridad de la cromatina espermática y como el daño a esta estructura afecta la eficiencia reproductiva y a la progenie; además, se presentan algunas alternativas que pudiesen ser útiles a fin de disminuir la incidencia de espermatozoides con daño en la cromatina, con especial énfasis en rumiantes.

Guía de alambre intravascular anudada

Paciente femenina de 76 años ingresada en sala de medicina por infección urinaria. Se indica antibioticoterapia con ceftriaxona 1g por vía intravenosa cada 12 horas. Por dificultades en la canulación de venas periféricas se procedió a realizar cateterización percutánea de la vena subclavia derecha por vía infraclavicular. Durante el procedimiento se presentó dificultad para retirar la guía de alambre del dispositivo. Se realizó control radiológico y se observó que se había formado un nudo en la luz de la vena subclavia. Requirió tratamiento quirúrgico para remover la guía. Posteriormente tuvo una evolución favorable

Modelo de expectativas en torno a la seguridad pública en microempresarios del centro de México

El objetivo del presente trabajo ha sido establecer la consistencia interna de un modelo a fin de poder validar su estructura y especificarla para contrastarla en otros escenarios similares al que prevalece en el centro de México. La pregunta de investigación se circunscribió a la pertinencia de la explicación universal sobre la problemática de seguridad local, pero la hipótesis aceptada sugirió que los marcos teóricos no sólo explican al fenómeno y más bien lo predicen. En tal sentido es que el estudio de la seguridad organizacional deberá transitar por el contraste de modelo que por su grado de porcentaje de varianza explicada incluirá otros factores relativos a la seguridad informática, digital o electrónica que inhibe los procesos innovadores en las organizaciones dedicadas a la creación del conocimiento.La seguridad organizacional ha sido propuesta como un constructo para dar cuenta de la importancia de la prevención del delito en las empresas cuyo valor radica en la creación del conocimiento. En tal sentido es que el objetivo del presente trabajo fue explicar las dimensiones de la seguridad organizacional. Se realizó un estudio no experimental con una selección no probabilística de 258 microempresarios del centro de México. A partir de un modelo estructural ⌠X2 = 324,35 (21gl) p = 0,007; GFI = 0,990; CFI = 0,995; RMSEA = 0,009⌡ se encontró que el factor relativo a la seguridad tecnológica esperada reflejó al constructo de seguridad organizacional (0,731)

Reproductive Performance of Water Buffalo Cows: A Review of Affecting Factors

This article aims to review both the economic impact of reproductive failures on the profitability of water buffalo systems and the effect of different factors on the reproductive performance of water buffaloes. Besides, an overview of various non-hormonal alternatives to improve reproductive performance is made. The optimal reproductive efficiency in water buffaloes implies calving to conception interval around 90 days to reach a calving interval of 400 days, with longer calving intervals having a negative impact on profitability. Reproductive efficiency is the consequence of the interaction of genetic and non-genetic factors, and the recognition of these factors by analyzing the reproductive information must be a priority. Although each factor's impact can be of greater or lesser magnitude depending on the conditions of each herd, some factors like nutrition, milk yield, body condition score, negative energy balance, parity, bull presence, low estrus intensity, and season can be considered high-impact factors. Not all factors are common among farms; therefore each farm must implement a program for the identification, control, and prevention of reproductive problems, especially during early lactation, to prevent a long anestrus; and when artificial insemination is used, so that it is done at the correct time with respect to the beginning of estrus to enhance fertility

Modelo de conciencia para la sustentabilidad

Roughly, the conscience for sustainability unveils a process of civil self-management in the face of the absence or inefficiency of state management in terms of resource supply and quality of public services. In this sense, the present work set out to establish a model for the study of the phenomenon. Documentary work was done with a sample selection of sources indexed to national repositories, considering the year of publication and the keywords. Lines related to the extension of the model, as well as to the comparison between regions are confirmed to corroborate the findings reported in the literature.Grosso modo, la conciencia para la sustentabilidad devela un proceso de autogestión civil frente a la ausencia o ineficiencia de la gestión estatal en materia de abastecimiento de recursos y calidad de los servicios públicos. En ese tenor, el presente trabajo se propuso establecer un modelo para el estudio del fenómeno. Se realizó un trabajo documental con una selección muestral de fuentes indexadas a repositorios nacionales, considerando el año de publicación y las palabras claves. Se advierten líneas concernientes a la extensión del modelo, así como a la comparación entre regiones para corroborar los hallazgos reportados en la literatura

Selección de un servomotor y transmisión por el método de las potencias transitorias
